Tiger Brands in Bellville (Western Cape) is seeking a maintenance electrician to ensure the safe, reliable operation of all electrical equipment in the plant.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, fault-find, and install or modify electrical systems, while supporting production targets and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 4 years of experience in electrical maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance.

Responsabilités

• Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on mill and production equipment.
• Attend breakdowns promptly and restore equipment safely.
• Conduct electrical fault finding on motors, drives, panels and sensors.
• Complete planned and preventative maintenance according to the schedule.
• Follow electrical isolation, lockout and safety procedures.
• Assist with root-cause analysis of recurring breakdowns.
• Collaborate with maintenance team to ensure asset reliability.

Compilation and updating of equipment registers (safety). - To ensure that machinery used in the unit is maintained, set correctly and free of safety hazards. - Input and print job cards and stores requisitions on the planned maintenance system. - Provide technical support to machine operators. - Conduct routine maintenance and maintenance inspections. - Applying pro-active preventative maintenance principles - Maximize performance on all equipment. - Complete job cards, log books and inspection reports. - Compile electrical schedules for the plant. Purpose of the role:

To ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all electrical equipment within the mill by performing preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault finding and electrical installations, while supporting production targets and minimizing equipment downtime.

Key responsibilities:

Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on mill and production equipment.

Attend breakdowns promptly and restore equipment to operation as quickly and safely as possible.

Conduct electrical fault finding on motors, drives, control circuits, sensors, panels and associated equipment.

Complete planned and preventative maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.

Ensure assigned work and job cards are completed accurately and on time, including proper feedback and closure.

Maintain acceptable utilization/productivity during available working hours.

Inspect equipment and identify potential failures before they cause breakdowns.

Perform electrical installations and modifications according to required standards.

Support production during changeovers, start-ups and equipment problems.

Follow electrical isolation, lockout and other safety procedures at all times.

Maintain good housekeeping in electrical panels, workshops and work areas.

Communicate outstanding work, recurring faults and equipment risks to the supervisor.

Assist with root-cause analysis of recurring breakdowns and implement corrective actions.

Work effectively with mechanical artisans, operators and other maintenance personnel.

Take ownership of allocated work from assignment through to completion.
