Job summary

EXCELLENCE IN PGM'S seeks an experienced tradesperson to oversee electrical work in a defined area of responsibility, ensuring maintenance and reliability of the plant. The role requires 3+ years as an Artisan, with HV switching experience, and exposure to processing plants, milling, and pumps.

You will perform legal inspections, repairs in HT substations, and supervise contractors. Applicants must have a trade qualification (Section 13/26D) or completed apprenticeship, NTC 2, SAP and computer

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years working exposure as an Artisan.
• Experienced in Processing plant, milling, flotation and crushers.
• Exposure to pumps and 6.6 kV/33 kV switching operations.
• Possession of medical certificate or fitness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, fault finding and breakdown repairs of electrical systems.
• Work at heights as required and manage electrical network in assigned area.
• Undertake legal inspections and testing to mine standards.
• Complete daily inspections and repairs in HT substations.
• Update and maintain legal documents per standards.
• Supervise contractors and coordinate standby/overtime with own transport.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To be responsible for all electrical work in the identified area of responsibility and to ensure proper maintenance and reliability of plant

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 /STD 10 (NQF 4) / N3 in trade related subjects is essential (External)
• Grade 12 /STD 10 (NQF 4) / N3 in trade related subjects is a distinct advantage (Internal)
• Recognized relevant Trade qualification (Section 13 or Section 26D) with proof of training) is essential.
• OR
• Proof of recognized completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time)
• NTC 2 (relevant Trade Theory and specialized courses) is essential
• A minimum of 3 years' working exposure as an Artisan
• Working exposure as an Electrician/Technician responsible for the following is essential:
• Exposure and experience in Processing plant
• Exposure and experience in Milling, flotation and crushers
• Exposure and experience in pumps
• 6.6 kV and 33 kV switching operation
• 6.6 kV and 33 kV overhead lines would be considered an advantage
• Medium voltage switching and fault-finding's
• Computer literacy is essential and SAP experience will be advantageous
• Medical certificate or medically fit to obtain one is essential
