Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Technician for a power generation facility in Klerksdorp. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, working with engineers and technical staff to ensure safe, continuous plant operation.

The role requires hands-on expertise and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate holds a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) with at least 3 years in a similar industrial setting,

Qualifications

National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in a power generation or industrial plant environment.
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems and using diagnostic tools.
Ability to work independently and in a team, with a valid driver’s license and willingness to work shifts.

Responsibilities

Install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
Assist in commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment.
Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures for a safe workplace.
