Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician for our operations in Soweto. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient operations within the community.

The candidate will work with engineers and other technicians to troubleshoot problems, perform routine checks, and carry out repairs. A hands-on, safety-conscious professional with strong technical skills is preferred.

Qualifications

• National Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related trade qualification.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably with industrial or commercial experience.
• Solid knowledge of electrical theory, wiring practices, and safety procedures.
• Ability to use electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools effectively.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, and components in accordance with specifications.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, malfunctions, and breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical equipment, including generators, motors, and lighting systems.
• Ensure all work carried out adheres to electrical safety regulations and company policies.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Assist engineers with electrical project implementation and upgrades as required.
