Job summary

Placements24 in Vereeniging, Gauteng, is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the operations team at a power generation facility. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose faults, and implement preventative measures to keep critical electrical systems running safely.

This hands-on role requires discipline, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics; you will also maintain records and work collaboratively to minimize downtime and support

Qualifications

• National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related trade.
• Qualified Electrician with a valid Wireman's License.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or power plant environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and control circuits.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on all plant electrical equipment, including motors, generators, switchgear, and control systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems using appropriate testing instruments and diagnostic techniques.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment history.
