Job summary

Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to oversee the design, implementation, maintenance and upgrade of electrical infrastructure across projects. You will work with project teams to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of industrial systems.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of hands-on experience with power systems, SCADA, PLCs, budgets, and safety compliance, with a proactive, analytical approach and strong

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing and maintaining complex electrical systems.
Proficiency in power systems analysis and troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
Experience with project management principles and budget oversight.

Responsibilities

Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems in industrial and commercial settings.
Conduct system analysis, performance monitoring, and diagnostics to identify areas for improvement.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for electrical equipment and infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
Manage electrical contractors and third-party service providers to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
Document system configurations, maintenance records, and operational procedures.
