Placements24 in Pretoria, South Africa, invites an Electrical Systems Engineer to shape the design, integration and testing of advanced electrical subsystems for defence and aerospace platforms. You will ensure performance, reliability and safety of critical components in a hybrid work environment that blends on-site collaboration with remote work where feasible.

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
6-8 years of experience in electrical systems design and integration, preferably in defence or aerospace.
Expertise in power electronics, signal integrity, and EMC.
Experience with SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar.
Familiarity with MIL-STD and aerospace certification processes.
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience with high-voltage systems and advanced sensor technologies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical subsystems for defence and aerospace applications, including power generation, distribution, and control systems.
Perform detailed analysis of electrical systems, including simulations and modelling using relevant software tools.
Integrate electrical components and subsystems into larger platforms, ensuring seamless operation.
Develop and execute test plans for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with stringent performance and safety requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues encountered during development, testing, and integration phases.
Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to achieve project objectives.
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices in electrical systems engineering for defence and aerospace.
Contribute to proposal development and technical reviews for new projects.
