Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Services Manager in Soweto, Gauteng to oversee all electrical operations across a diverse property portfolio. You will lead a team of technicians and supervisors, manage budgets, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across residential, commercial, and industrial assets.

You will drive maintenance strategies, oversee procurement, and implement energy efficiency initiatives while managing major incidents and delivering high-performance

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical services management, with at least 5 years in a senior supervisory or managerial role.
• Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA is highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems for property types including high-rise buildings, commercial centers, and industrial facilities.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations, OHS Act, and building codes in South Africa.
• Proven experience in budget management, contract negotiation, and team leadership.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Soweto, Gauteng area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive electrical maintenance and operational strategies for the entire property portfolio.
• Lead a team of electrical supervisors, technicians, and contractors, ensuring high performance and adherence to standards.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and upgrade of all electrical systems including power distribution, backup power, lighting, and safety systems.
• Ensure full compliance with electrical safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
• Manage the electrical services budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess the condition of installations and identify risks.
• Oversee procurement of electrical materials and services, managing supplier relationships and contracts.
• Develop and implement energy efficiency initiatives to reduce costs.
• Respond to and manage major electrical incidents or emergencies with swift resolution.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the department.
