About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Electrical Project Manager to spearhead critical projects in George, Western Cape . This role is crucial for overseeing the end-to-end execution of electrical infrastructure development for solar farms and wind energy installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of electrical projects from conception, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, to handover.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying critical path activities and potential risks.
• Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
• Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineers, contractors, and site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project objectives are met.
• Manage procurement processes for electrical equipment and services, including vendor selection and contract negotiation.
• Implement robust quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety performance.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and clients.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues proactively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering project management, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects (solar/wind).
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale electrical infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, grid connections, and power electronics in renewable energy applications.
• Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Familiarity with relevant South African electrical standards and regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership, team management, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
• Based in or willing to relocate to George, Western Cape .
