Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a hands-on role at a major power generation facility in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, driving safety and reliability in its critical infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in industrial electrical maintenance within power generation or heavy industry, with strong knowledge of MV/LV systems, protection relays, and control circuits,

Qualifications

• B.Eng or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in power generation or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of high and medium voltage systems, protection relays, and control circuits.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., thermography, vibration analysis).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) best practices.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement electrical maintenance strategies for power generation equipment.
• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical systems, including generators, switchgear, motors, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical faults and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Manage spare parts inventory and recommend procurement needs.
• Supervise and guide maintenance technicians and contractors.
• Participate in plant shutdowns and major maintenance projects.
• Analyze equipment performance data and recommend improvements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate reports.
• Ensure the operational integrity of the electrical infrastructure.
