Our client, a prominent engineering and construction firm, is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation and Commissioning Engineer to join their project team based in Benoni . This role is crucial for ensuring the successful and safe installation, testing, and energization of electrical systems across various industrial and commercial projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all on-site electrical activities, from initial setup to final handover, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and client requirements. This position requires a hands‑on approach, strong technical expertise in electrical systems, and excellent on‑site management skills within the Gauteng region. We are looking for a meticulous individual dedicated to achieving project milestones with a high degree of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage all on‑site electrical installation activities according to project schedules and technical drawings.
• Supervise and coordinate electrical teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure efficient execution of work.
• Conduct pre‑commissioning checks and tests on electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, motors, and control panels.
• Develop and execute detailed commissioning procedures and test plans.
• Perform energization and functional testing of electrical systems, ensuring correct operation and performance.
• Identify and rectify any electrical installation defects or commissioning issues promptly.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.
• Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to report on progress, address concerns, and ensure project objectives are met.
• Maintain accurate records of installation progress, test results, and site activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the site team throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• National Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical installation and commissioning of industrial or commercial projects.
• Proven experience in the testing and energization of low and medium voltage electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, equipment, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, layout drawings, and specifications.
