Job summary

Afrimat Iron Ore in Kathu, Northern Cape, seeks an Electrical Foreman to supervise electrical artisans and contractors, manage maintenance, and ensure safety compliance. You will oversee MV/HV systems, substation upkeep, and critical mining equipment, while coordinating with engineers and procurement teams.

The role requires a valid electrical trade test, MV/HV competency, Grade 12, and at least five years of mining management experience. Strong leadership and safety culture are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric with electrical trade test and MV/HT competency.
• Minimum five years’ management experience in mining.
• Authorisations for MV/HV switching required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical artisans and contractors to meet standards and deadlines.
• Plan preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and manage breakdown repairs.
• Enforce Mine Health and Safety Act standards; lead toolbox talks.
• Manage budgets, procurement of spare parts, and equipment upkeep.
• Supervise MV/HV reticulation, substation maintenance, and mining equipment.
