Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Field Service Engineer to support clients in Polokwane, Limpopo. The role involves traveling to sites to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain complex electrical and control systems for industrial equipment.

The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and electrical schematics, plus a proven ability to work independently and manage time on the road.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in electrical engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 4 years in field service or technical support for industrial electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control diagrams.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and service electrical and control systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, mechanical issues, and software problems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and manuals.
• Troubleshoot PLC logic and industrial networks.
• Provide technical training and support to customer personnel.
• Generate detailed service reports with parts used and recommendations.
• Respond to urgent service requests and manage calls efficiently.
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, and testing equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback.
