Job summary

Bigen Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to drive design and construction management of Eskom and Municipal Distribution & Reticulation networks. You will lead design drafting, stakeholder liaison, and risk management across projects while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires strong communication, English proficiency, and multi-disciplinary collaboration within a dynamic team. A senior engineer with ECSA registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• BEng / BSc / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional ECSA registration (Pr.Eng / Pr.Tech.Eng) essential.
• Minimum seven years in design and construction management for Eskom and municipal networks.
• Strong communication, reporting, and multi-disciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute Electrical Projects from ECSA Stages 1–6, including design drafting.
• Manage commercial, quality, resourcing and technical risk across project lifecycle.
• Liaise with supply authorities and clients; mentor junior staff.

Job description

• BEng / BSc / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng / Pr.Tech.Eng).

Required Skills

• A minimum of seven years' experience in design and construction management of Eskom and MunicipalDistribution & Reticulation networks and being well versed with Eskom, SANS, NRS and IEEEstandards.
• A good understanding of building services, working within a multi-discipline project environment.
• Knowledge of renewable energy solutions and Grid Code Compliance would be beneficial.
• Proficiency in English with exceptional communication and report-writing skills.
• Strong communication and people relation management skills,
• Ability to work under pressure and independently on complex tasks.

Software Packages Required

• MS Office Suite.
• MicroStation and Autodesk Suite.
• CDEGS (AutoGrid Pro).
• Power office and Retic Master.
• PowerFactory (DigSilent) will be an advantage.
