Job summary

IX Engineers in South Africa seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of building services, including power, lighting, fire detection, access control, CCTV, nurse call, PA, telecoms, and solar PV/BESS systems. You will drive conceptual design, develop detailed drawings, and prepare tender documentation.

The role requires supervising project teams, coordinating procurement, and ensuring compliance with SANS 10142/10400-XA and ECSA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of relevant experience post degree.
• Experience in AutoCAD/REVIT and scheduling software is an advantage.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and technical aspects to ensure on-time delivery within budget and to specification.
• Produce detail designs and contract documentation.
• Sign-off on electrical designs per ECSA guidelines (Pr. Eng).
• Support tender processes, procurement, and commissioning activities.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior staff.
