Job summary

Placements24 in Port Elizabeth seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for commercial, industrial and residential projects. You will drive building services, from concept to commissioning, coordinating with architects and other disciplines in a hybrid-flexible role.

You will ensure compliance with SANS and relevant regs, oversee design delivery, and contribute to high-quality infrastructure development in the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years' experience in electrical building services design.
• Proficient with Revit MEP, AutoCAD and DIALux; knowledge of SANS standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and specification of building services for various projects.
• Develop layouts, schematics, load calculations and control strategies.
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical and structural disciplines for integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and specification of building services, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and earthing.
• Develop detailed electrical layouts, schematics, load calculations, and control strategies for diverse building projects.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
• Oversee the preparation of tender documentation and assist in the tender evaluation process.
• Conduct site inspections during construction phases to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.

Requirements
