Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical building services design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP is essential.
• Knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical systems in buildings.
• Familiarity with South African building regulations and electrical standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify electrical building services, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Conduct electrical load calculations and system sizing.
• Liaise with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and other consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Undertake site visits for inspections, surveys, and to resolve site queries during construction phases.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS, SABS, IEC, and other relevant building codes and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and bills of quantities.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs.
