Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Draughtsperson for an on-site role in Paarl, Western Cape. You will produce detailed electrical drawings and schematics for building services and industrial projects, translating engineers’ concepts into precise technical drawings.

You’ll ensure compliance with SANS and project requirements, maintain files, and collaborate with engineers and managers to clarify details and deliver accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Electrical draughtsperson with a proven portfolio.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit MEP desirable.
• Solid knowledge of electrical standards and SA regulations.
• Experience in building services design and drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and ability to work with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and project-specific requirements.
• Prepare drawings for power distribution, lighting layouts, single-line diagrams, and wiring schedules.
• Update and revise existing drawings based on engineer’s instructions and site feedback.
• Maintain organized electronic and hard copy drawing files.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to clarify design details and ensure accuracy.
• Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
• Perform basic calculations and checks related to drawing production.
• Participate in design review meetings to provide input on drawing constructability.
• Ensure consistency in drawing standards and presentation across all projects.

Our client, a reputable engineering consultancy firm based in Paarl, Western Cape, is seeking a skilled Electrical Draughtsperson to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and compliant electrical drawings and schematics for a variety of projects, including building services and industrial applications. • Solid understanding of electrical symbols, standards, and conventions.
• Familiarity with building services design principles and South African electrical regulations.
