About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized industrial equipment, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Electrical Design Drafter to join their engineering department in Vereeniging, Gauteng . This role is crucial in translating conceptual designs and calculations from electrical engineers into precise, production-ready technical drawings and schematics. You will utilize CAD software to create detailed wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and component specifications. This hybrid position allows for collaboration with the engineering team while offering flexibility in work arrangements. Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Ensure all drawings adhere to company standards, industry best practices, and relevant electrical codes (e.g., SANS, IEC).
• Work closely with Electrical Engineers to understand design requirements and incorporate feedback.
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs) based on finalized electrical designs.
• Prepare and manage the documentation for electrical control panels, power distribution systems, and equipment.
• Assist in the preparation of technical manuals and documentation for clients.
• Maintain accurate and organized drawing archives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to resolve any drafting-related queries or issues.
• Support senior engineers in the design review process.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Drafter or Designer.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software, specifically AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Strong understanding of electrical components, symbols, and wiring practices.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical specifications.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
