Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Technician to support our Kimberley-based engineering team. You will prepare electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation under the guidance of Electrical Engineers, translating concepts into precise technical plans on site.

The role requires 2–4 years of experience, a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and CAD proficiency (AutoCAD Electrical). You will work within a collaborative on-site team on Northern Cape projects, with mentorship

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• 2–4 years of experience as an electrical design technician or drafter.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar.
• Familiarity with electrical symbols, standards, and terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment on-site in Kimberley.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring schedules.
• Assist Electrical Engineers in the design and development of electrical systems.
• Ensure all drawings and documentation comply with company standards and relevant regulations.
• Maintain and update drawing registers and revision control systems.
• Perform basic electrical calculations and checks as required.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of design tasks.
