Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical design engineering, focusing on infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and other relevant design and analysis software.
• Strong knowledge of South African electrical standards, regulations, and building codes.
• Experience with low, medium and high voltage systems in an infrastructure context.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for infrastructure projects, including power distribution, street lighting, traffic control systems, and substations.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, calculations, and specifications using CAD and relevant software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for proposed electrical installations.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national standards, building codes, and client specifications.
• Coordinate electrical designs with other engineering disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical).
• Assist in the tender process, review contractor submissions, and provide technical support during construction.
• Perform site inspections and commissioning of electrical infrastructure.
