This role is crucial for contributing to the design and implementation of electrical infrastructure for various public and private sector projects, including transportation networks, utilities, and commercial developments. You will be responsible for producing high-quality electrical designs, ensuring they meet stringent technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and project objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive electrical designs for infrastructure projects, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and standby power systems.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, calculations, and technical specifications using industry-standard software.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather necessary data for design development.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national and international standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical) and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
• Perform electrical system analysis, including load calculations and fault studies.
• Review shop drawings and submittals from contractors to ensure compliance with design intent.
• Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and technical proposals.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in electrical infrastructure design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical design engineering, preferably within infrastructure or consulting environments.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar.
• Knowledge of power distribution systems, low voltage and medium voltage equipment, and protection schemes.
• Familiarity with relevant South African building codes and electrical standards.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle and construction processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
