This role is central to managing and executing large-scale electrical infrastructure projects, including power distribution networks, substations, and renewable energy installations. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects from inception to completion, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical infrastructure projects, from initial concept through to final commissioning.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation effectively to ensure projects are completed on time and within financial constraints.
• Develop and review detailed project specifications, engineering designs, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams, to ensure project objectives are met.
• Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards in Durban.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project engineers and technical staff.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant South African electrical codes, standards, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in managing electrical engineering projects, preferably in the infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of power systems, distribution networks, substations, and renewable energy integration.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is essential.
