Job summary

SMD Technologies in Gauteng is seeking an Education Sales Specialist to drive new business within the education sector and build a pipeline across universities, colleges, schools and NGOs.

You will identify opportunities, visit institutions, engage with decision-makers and present technology solutions to support education projects. This role requires field-based activity and a proactive, target-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing or related field is advantageous.
• 2–3 years’ B2B sales or business development experience.
• Experience selling technology or educational products is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel and field-based work.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prospect new education sector opportunities.
• Target universities, colleges, schools and NGOs.
• Research institutions and decision-makers in procurement and IT.
• Build relationships with stakeholders in educational institutions.
• Conduct cold calling, email prospecting and face-to-face meetings.
• Attend meetings and site visits at educational institutions.
• Identify education project needs and propose SMD solutions.
• Promote computers, projectors, furniture and other technology solutions.
• Develop new accounts into long-term customers.
• Maintain records of prospects, visits and sales opportunities.
• Coordinate proposals and quotations with internal teams.
• Achieve sales targets and KPIs.
