Placements24 is seeking an experienced E-commerce Platform Specialist to manage and enhance our Vereeniging-based online store. You will oversee product catalog updates, pricing, and inventory while implementing new features and resolving platform issues to improve the customer experience.

The role emphasizes data-driven optimization, performance monitoring, and collaboration with development teams to drive sales and brand reputation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an E-commerce Platform Specialist or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of Magento, Shopify, or BigCommerce.
• Strong UX/UI, design principles, and CRO.
• Experience with PIM and CMS platforms.
• Ability to analyze web analytics (GA) and translate insights into actions.

This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth functioning, optimization, and growth of the company's e-commerce presence. You will be responsible for everything from website updates and product management to troubleshooting technical issues and implementing new platform features. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in e-commerce platforms and a passion for improving the online customer experience, directly impacting sales and brand reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and optimize the company's e-commerce platform (e.g., Magento, Shopify Plus, WooCommerce).


• Oversee product catalog management, including adding new products, updating descriptions, pricing, and inventory levels.


• Implement and test new features, plugins, and integrations to enhance website functionality and user experience.


• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the e-commerce platform, working with development teams as needed.


• Monitor website performance, uptime, and security, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers.


• Analyze platform data to identify trends, conversion blockers, and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an E-commerce Platform Specialist , E-commerce Manager, or similar technical role.


• In-depth knowledge of at least one major e-commerce platform (e.g., Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce).


• Strong understanding of website design principles, UX/UI, and conversion rate optimization.


• Experience with product information management (PIM) and content management systems (CMS).


• Proficiency in analyzing web analytics data (e.g., Google Analytics) and translating insights into actions.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in Vereeniging .
