Placements24 is assisting a luxurious coastal resort in Durban in finding a Director of Spa Operations and Wellness Programs. This senior role focuses on strategic planning, program development, and delivering an exceptional guest experience while driving financial performance.

You will lead a team of spa therapists, wellness practitioners, and operations staff, shaping a culture of excellence, innovation, and personalized service within the Durban hospitality landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Admin, Spa Management or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in spa & wellness management, with 4+ years in Director-level role.
• Proven track record of managing spa operations, revenue growth, and cost control.
• Deep knowledge of spa treatments, wellness modalities, and fitness programming.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and budgeting capabilities.
• Proficiency in spa management software and standard business apps.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the spa and wellness strategic vision aligned with the resort brand.
• Oversee day-to-day spa and wellness operations ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Manage budgets, P&L, revenue strategies and cost controls.
• Lead, train, and motivate a high-performing team of spa professionals.
• Curate innovative spa menus, wellness packages, and fitness programs.
