Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences (or related).
• MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum 4 years in business development, entrepreneurship support, or economic development, focusing on social enterprises.
• Strong understanding of business, finance, and market dynamics.
• Proven ability to mentor entrepreneurs.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Durban and KwaZulu-Natal socio-economic landscape.
• Willingness to work on-site full-time.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess social enterprise opportunities aligned with mission.
• Provide business development support including planning, financial modeling, and market analysis.
• Facilitate access to funding, mentorship, and networking.
• Develop and run training programs on entrepreneurship and social enterprise management.
• Monitor performance and provide ongoing guidance for growth.
• Conduct market research and feasibility studies for new projects.
• Build relationships with local businesses, government and community stakeholders.
• Organize events related to social enterprise development.
• Contribute to strategic planning and reporting of economic development initiatives.
