Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Site Safety Officer to ensure health and safety standards on construction sites across the Durban region. You will lead risk assessments, develop site safety plans, and enforce protocols to protect workers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years on construction sites, SA OHS Act knowledge, and qualifications such as SAMTRAC or NEBOSH. You will train staff, maintain records, and advise management to foster a safety culture.

Qualifications

• Relevant safety qualifications and certifications in occupational health and safety.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Proven experience implementing safety programs on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific Health and Safety plans.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents and near misses; prepare detailed reports.
• Deliver safety inductions and training to site personnel.
• Maintain safety records and ensure legal compliance.
• Advise site management on health and safety matters.
