Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Construction Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment on projects in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies across all construction sites, minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with OHSA regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of construction site hazards and safety management best practices, with qualifications such as SAMTRAC or NOSA and experience in risk assessments and safety

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Safety Officer or in a similar health and safety role.
• Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans for construction projects.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and awareness programs to all site personnel.
• Ensure that all safety equipment and protective gear are available and used correctly.
• Maintain safety records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and client representatives on safety matters.
