SCallaghan in Durban is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to join the operations team. This hands-on role supports maintenance, installation, and testing of electrical systems within energy facilities, ensuring reliability and safety in the power infrastructure.

You will troubleshoot complex electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and document activities while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards in a dynamic energy environment.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (N3 or higher).
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in industrial or power generation environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, PLCs, and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems and equipment.
• Assist engineers with the installation and commissioning of new electrical plant and machinery.
• Conduct electrical testing and diagnostics to identify faults and performance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, test results, and equipment history.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols.
• Support the implementation of electrical system upgrades and modifications.
