Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Principal Management Consultant to lead operations optimization projects from Durban, overseeing diagnostics, design, and implementation of efficiency-driven solutions for a diverse client base.

The role emphasizes lean, Six Sigma, and process re-engineering with a focus on driving productivity, cost reduction, and quality improvements. Strong leadership, client relationship skills, and willingness to travel within KwaZulu-Natal are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related quantitative field.
• 10+ years of experience in management consulting or a senior operational leadership role.
• Proven expertise in supply chain management, lean methodologies, process re-engineering, and/or Six Sigma.
• Proven track record of leading and delivering complex operational improvement projects.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative modeling skills.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Experience in the South African industrial landscape is highly desirable.
• Willingness to travel to client sites, primarily within KwaZulu-Natal.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end operational assessment and diagnosis for clients across industries.
• Design and implement tailored operational improvement strategies focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.
• Develop and deploy lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process optimization methodologies.
• Manage large-scale operational transformation projects with stakeholder buy-in.
• Analyze supply chains, logistics, and manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client leadership.
• Mentor and coach project teams to enhance their expertise in operations consulting.
• Develop and deliver presentations and reports communicating findings and recommendations to clients.
