Placements24 is seeking an innovative Aerospace Engineer (Structures) in Durban to lead design, analysis, and testing of aircraft structural components throughout the lifecycle. You will use CATIA/ANSYS/NASTRAN for robust structural performance and collaborate with manufacturing to implement designs.

The role requires solid experience in FEA and composite materials, with strong analytical skills and a collaborative, interdisciplinary mindset in a Durban-based team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in the structural design and analysis of aircraft or spacecraft.
• Proficiency with FEA software and composite materials.
• Strong understanding of material properties, failure modes, and testing methodologies.
• Analytical and collaborative with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze aircraft structural components using CAD/CAE tools.
• Perform stress, fatigue, and fracture mechanics analyses.
• Develop and execute test plans; validate designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams.
• Investigate failures and propose design improvements.
• Stay updated on materials science and aerospace tech.
