Job summary

DP World in Durban seeks a driver trainer to assess, train, and develop drivers in line with standard operating procedures and work objectives. You will lead training initiatives, compile reports, and ensure adherence to governance and performance targets, contributing to efficient, compliant operations.

The role encompasses evaluating drivers, delivering practical/theoretical instruction, and supporting continuous improvement within a global logistics setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (NQF level 7) or equivalent.

Job description

To assess and train drivers in alignment with predefined work objectives (as per agreed standard operating procedures).

Key Performance Areas:

• Deliver work activities according to set standards in order to satisfy customers.
• Attend learning initiatives to improve work quality and enhance own skills.
• Own and live up to the company values.
• Execute own work according to set operating procedures service level agreements.
• Execute work in line with governance and compliance processes.
• Plan and organise own tasks to make sure that performance targets are met and standard operating procedures are adhered to (daily to 3 months).
• Compile and submit driver training reports.
• Evaluate drivers and provide practical and theoretical training.
• Execute work activities effectively and efficiently in order to maximise financial performance. Provide continuous feedback on task delivery to support decision making.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's or equivalent 3-year degree (NQF Level 7)

Experience and Skills Required:

• Up to 5 years of experience in a similar environment with at least 2 years’ tactical leadership or specialist experience.
• Basic facilitate learning knowledge and / or skill
• Basic legislation and regulations knowledge and / or skill
• Intermediate administration knowledge and / or skill
