Job summary

Premier FMCG (Pty) Ltd is seeking a warehouse operative to load stock, operate a reach truck and support stock replenishment across the department.

The role requires a Grade 12, a valid reach truck license, and 1–2 years in a similar FMCG warehouse position. Shift work is involved, with potential weekend duties and overtime as rostered.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Must hold a valid Reach Truck License.
• 1–2 years of FMCG warehousing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the reach truck in all designated zones.
• Perform order picking and replenishment to maintain stock availability.
• Assist with cycle counts, stock checks and record discrepancies.
• Maintain clean, organised aisles and comply with PPE and safety rules.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and monitor battery charging and maintenance.

Job Purpose

Loading stock within the department. Receiving and placing replenishment stock, in designated areas.

Key Responsibilities

1.Safe Operation of Reach Truck

• Operate the reach truck in a safe and responsible manner.
• Comply with all health, safety, and warehouse procedures.
• Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and report any defects.
• Ensure valid operating licences and certifications are maintained.

2. Order Picking and Replenishment

• Retrieve stock from high racking locations as required.
• Replenish picking locations to maintain stock availability.
• Assist with order preparation and dispatch activities.
• Ensure accurate picking and stock movement.

3. Inventory Control

• Assist with cycle counts and stock takes.
• Report stock discrepancies, damages, and shortages.
• Maintain accurate stock location records.
• Support inventory accuracy initiatives

4. Housekeeping and Safety

• Keep warehouse aisles and work areas clean and free from hazards.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses immediately.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

6. Equipment Care

• Perform daily vehicle checks and complete inspection records.
• Monitor battery levels, charging requirements, and general

Experience and Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Reach truck License
• At least 1-2 years' experience in a similar position in the FMCG environment
