Job summary

ShopriteX in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking an Operations Team Leader to oversee contracted drivers, ensure compliance with SLAs, SOPs, and regulatory requirements, and support asset management for projects.

You will manage driver performance, schedules, conduct daily checks, provide on-the-job training, resolve issues, and contribute to continuous improvement and budgeting for the cluster.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent is essential.
• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Safety Management or related field is essential.
• 3+ years' experience in an operations environment is essential.
• 1 year supervisory experience is desirable.
• Familiarity with performance management and improvement is essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 with focus on applicable tools.
• Experience in retail or FMCG industry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage performance objectives of clusters and apply corrective measures for performance exceptions.
• Coordinate contracted driver availability and schedules daily and weekly.
• Perform daily and weekly compliance checks on drivers and assets to meet legal/regulatory requirements.
• Issue assets, uniforms, and campaign-related articles; ensure timely submissions to admin.
• Provide on-the-job training; address driver queries and represent driver voice within the business.
• Collect driver feedback and work on plans to address barriers to performance.
• Suggest improvements to driver self-service and resource access.
• Report in-field incidents promptly and support investigations and documentation.
• Contribute to continuous cluster improvement and budget inputs.
