Job summary

ShopriteX is seeking an Operations Team Leader to oversee the performance and compliance of contracted drivers across stores and clusters, ensuring service level agreements, SOPs, and regulatory requirements are met.

You will manage driver availability, schedules, daily compliance checks, asset provisioning, and on-the-job training, while addressing driver concerns and driving continuous improvement within operations.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent – essential.
• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Safety Management or related field.
• +3 years experience in an operations environment – essential.
• 1 year experience in supervisory capacity – desirable.
• Familiarity with performance management and improvement – essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 with focus on applicable tools – essential.
• Experience in retail or FMCG industry – desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage performance objectives of clusters, monitor and apply corrective measures per policies and procedures.
• Coordinate contracted driver availability and schedules daily and weekly.
• Conduct daily/weekly compliance checks on drivers and assets; ensure resources and tools are in order and compliant.
• Provide assets and uniforms; ensure timely submission of reports and AODs.
• Lead on-the-job training; address driver queries and represent driver voice within the business.
• Capture driver feedback and pursue plans to address barriers to performance and alignment with business imperatives.
• Recommend improvements to driver self-service to access required resources.
