Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is seeking a dedicated transportation driver to provide safe, punctual services for clients. The role collaborates with an Escorting Assistant to pick up and transport seniors, assist with boarding, and operate the vehicle's lifting platform as needed.

You will perform pre- and post-trip checks, maintain the vehicle interior, and complete required documentation. A valid Ontario Class F license and a clean driving record are required, along with fluency in

Qualifications

• Possesses a valid Class F Ontario Driving License.
• Minimum 3 years professional driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Understanding about vehicle maintenance preferable.
• Experience in working with seniors an asset.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Recent satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen result.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Centre's vehicle in accordance with policy to provide safe and punctual transportation services to clients.
• Work closely with Escorting Assistant in picking up and transporting clients.
• Assist clients to board and unboard the vehicle safely, considering health conditions and needs.
• Safely operate lifting platform of bus and secure assistive devices in the vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip checks to ensure vehicle is safe and roadworthy.
• Report unusual conditions to the Centre promptly (vehicle, weather, client).
• Ensure safe arrangements for passengers and complete follow-up tasks per policy.
• Keep vehicle interior clean and arrange routine cleaning/maintenance.
• Complete all documentation on time according to policy.
• Comply with risk management policies for safety and data security.
• Stay up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operates the Centre's vehicle in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act and organization's policy to provide safe and punctual transportation services to clients
• Works closely with Escorting Assistant, as appropriate, in picking up and transporting clients.
• Assists clients to board and unboard the vehicle safely, with due consideration of the clients' health conditions and physical needs
• Safely operates lifting platform of bus and secures assistive devices, if any, in the vehicle.
• Performs external and internal circular checks of the vehicle before starting the vehicle to ensure it is in safe, working condition
• Reports promptly to the Centre any unusual/special conditions (e.g. vehicle, weather or client condition).
• Ensures safe arrangements for passengers and performs follow up tasks, in accordance with Centre's policies and instructions
• Keeps the interior of the vehicle in a clean condition and takes the vehicle for routine cleaning and maintenance
• Completes all documentation on time according to policy
• Complies with risk management policy for worker, client and vehicle safety and data security
• Keeps up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Salary Range:

$21.22 - $24.96
