Job summary

Premier FMCG (Pty) Ltd in Durban seeks a truck driver for the Durban Wheat Mill to ensure the timeous and efficient delivery of all products from the mill. The role requires 2–3 years in a similar role, matric, and a valid Code 14 license with PDP.

Responsibilities include truck housekeeping, incident reporting, POD control, fuel targets, stock offloading, daily vehicle checks, and document control. Overtime and own transport are required.

• Matric is required.
• Code 14 driver’s license and PDP must be valid and renewed on time each year.

Responsibilities

• Truck housekeeping – trucks must be neat and clean at all times.
• Incident and accident reporting – report all incidents to management timeously.
• POD control – sign, stamp and account for PODs.
• Fuel consumption – meet targets set by the company.
• Stock control – offloading of flour at customers.
• Daily vehicle checks – complete checklists, report defects, sign off.
• Document control – PODs, fuel slips, toll slips, trip sheets, etc.

Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to ensure the timeous and efficient delivery of all products from the Durban Wheat Mill.
Key Responsibilities
The core functions define the key areas of responsibility for this role, reflecting the accountabilities and expected outputs outlined in the competency-based profile. These are the primary activities through which the role delivers value to the business.

• Truck housekeeping – ensuring trucks are neat and clean at all times
• Incident and accident reporting – ensuring all incidents and accidents are reported to management timeously
• POD control – all POD's to be signed, stamped and accounted for
• Fuel consumptions – meet targets set by the company
• Stock control – Offloading of flour at customers
• Daily Vehicle Checklists – trucks to be checked daily, checklists completed, defects reported and signed and signed and handed to the fleet controller/supervisor
• Document control – POD's, fuel slips, toll slips, trip sheets, etc

Experience And Qualifications
To perform effectively in this role, the following minimum qualifications and work experience are required:

• 2-3 years in a similar role
• Matric
• Must have valid Code 14 driver's license and PDP (it is the driver's responsibility to ensure their PDP is renewed timeously each year)
