Job summary

Mulilo in Cape Town seeks a Director of Social Impact & Sustainability to drive its ESG agenda across the asset lifecycle, translating social investment into measurable community outcomes. You will oversee stakeholder engagement, monitoring and reporting, and ensure compliance with REIPPPP commitments and PPAs.

Reporting to the Chief Asset and Impact Officer, you will lead strategic governance, program design and delivery, building a capable team and ensuring value for money while aligning with

Qualifications

• Post‑graduate degree in Economics, Business Administration, Sustainable Development or a related field.
• 10+ years in social impact and monitoring & evaluation (M&E), with preference for renewable energy sector.
• 5+ years of team leadership, developing a collaborative and high‑performing culture.
• Strong understanding of socio‑economic dynamics and South Africa regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead Mulilo's social impact and sustainability strategy across all projects and platforms.
• Advise executive leadership and Project Company boards on social investment, regulatory risk and impact positioning.
• Oversee stakeholder engagement and community development initiatives across the portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with REIPPPP socio‑economic commitments and related IAs/PPAs with robust controls and reporting.
• Lead budgeting, resource allocation and vendor/partner performance; drive continuous improvements.
