Placements24 is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Operations for a Mahikeng facility. The role requires leading the manufacturing team, optimizing production lines, and implementing lean principles to drive efficiency, quality, and safety.

A hands-on leader with a strong background in industrial/operations management will guide cross-functional collaboration and capital projects to sustain competitive manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations management.
• Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and quality control systems.
• Experience in managing departmental budgets and capital projects.
• Proficiency in MES and ERP software.
• Willingness to work on-site in Mahikeng.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Implement and continuously improve lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma, Kaizen) to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure adherence to the highest quality standards and safety regulations.
• Manage production budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the manufacturing team to foster a high-performance culture.
• Manage equipment maintenance, capital expenditure planning, and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and supply chain departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Monitor key production metrics and implement corrective actions to meet targets.
• Drive innovation in manufacturing processes and technologies.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
