Job summary

OutsideCapital is seeking a commercially minded leader to drive performance across a growing international group with UK-based operating companies. This role goes beyond traditional finance, owning actions that improve profitability, operational efficiency and EBITDA across multiple businesses.

You will work with Managing Directors to challenge performance, develop recovery plans, and support integration of acquisitions while identifying revenue growth and cost optimisation opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience driving performance across a multi-site, multi-company or decentralised group.
• Ability to quickly understand a P&L, identify opportunities and turn analysis into action.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive EBITDA improvement through pricing, productivity, procurement and cost optimisation.
• Partner with senior leaders to challenge performance against budget and ensure actions are delivered.
• Develop and drive recovery plans for underperforming businesses across multiple sites.
• Support acquisition integration to deliver targets and value creation.
• Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cross-selling and operational efficiencies.
• Establish KPIs and performance reviews across the portfolio.

We’re looking for a commercially minded, hands-on leader to drive business performance across a growing international group with a portfolio of UK-based operating companies.

This is an opportunity for someone who can look beyond the numbers, identify what is holding a business back, and work with its leadership to turn things around.

This is not a traditional finance or reporting role. It’s about taking ownership of the actions that improve profitability, strengthen operational efficiency and deliver EBITDA growth across multiple businesses.

What will you be doing?

• Driving EBITDA improvement through pricing, labour productivity, procurement and cost optimisation.
• Working directly with Managing Directors to challenge performance against budget and ensure agreed actions are delivered.
• Developing and driving recovery plans for underperforming businesses.
• Supporting acquisition integration and ensuring newly acquired businesses deliver against their targets.
• Identifying opportunities for revenue growth, cross-selling and operational efficiencies.
• Establishing consistent KPIs and performance reviews across the portfolio.
• Partnering with the CFO to translate financial plans into practical, measurable business improvements.

The ideal person?

Someone who combines strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to influence operational decisions and get things done.

Requirements:

• Experience driving performance across a multi-site, multi-company or decentralised group.
• Exposure to acquisition-led growth, integration or value creation.
• A proven track record of improving profitability through commercial and operational initiatives.
• The ability to quickly understand a P&L, identify opportunities and turn analysis into action.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• The confidence to challenge senior stakeholders, hold leaders accountable and follow through on commitments.
• A finance qualification such as CA(SA) or CIMA is beneficial

Experience in property services, facilities management, business services, logistics, healthcare, recruitment, retail or other labour-intensive, multi-site environments would be advantageous.
