Job summary

Profile Personnel's client in passenger transport seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team, bringing heavy‑duty vehicle expertise to keep fleet vehicles operating at peak performance.

Diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of diesel engines and fluid systems are required, with strong fault‑finding skills and a valid driver’s licence. 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified Diesel Technician with relevant trade qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Experience on heavy‑duty vehicles; Volvo bus experience advantageous.
• Proficient with Volvo Tech Tool and diagnostic equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with strong fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and service diesel engines and mechanical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on fleet vehicles.
• Troubleshoot faults using diagnostic equipment and implement repairs.
• Service and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and service diesel engines and mechanical systems.

• Service and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Diesel Technician with relevant trade qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Experience working on heavy‑duty vehicles (Volvo bus experience advantageous).
• Proficient in using Volvo Tech Tool and other diagnostic equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Valid driver's licence with excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
