Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automotive Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Mahikeng. You will diagnose, maintain and repair diesel engines and related systems across a range of vehicles and diesel-powered equipment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with diesel engine operation, diagnostic tools, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of diesel vehicles.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of diesel engine operation, theory and repair.
Proficiency with diesel diagnostic tools and equipment.
Experience with various diesel engine manufacturers and models.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Valid driver's license and commitment to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, fuel systems, and exhaust systems.
Conduct routine maintenance and preventative repairs on diesel vehicles and equipment.
Overhaul and rebuild diesel engines and components as needed.
Install and repair emission control systems.
Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic software to identify and resolve complex issues.
Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
