Job summary

Hire Resolve is recruiting a Diesel Mechanic on behalf of a mining sector client based in Gauteng, South Africa. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, heavy mining equipment, and fleet systems to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of diesel mechanic experience, a Diesel Mechanic Trade Test, and relevant technical qualifications. The position offers a full-time role with opportunities in the mining industry.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Diesel Mechanic Trade Test Certificate is essential.
• Qualification in Engineering Studies or related technical discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose mechanical faults on diesel-powered vehicles and heavy mining equipment.
• Perform preventative, planned and breakdown maintenance on mining vehicles and diesel machinery.
• Repair and service diesel engines, gearboxes, transmissions and braking systems.
• Ensure compliance with mining safety standards and maintain clean, organized workshop.
• Complete accurate maintenance records and service reports.
