Job summary

RCL Foods in Tonga, Mpumalanga, South Africa invites applications for a Despatch Clerk to join our Supply Chain team. The role focuses on ensuring timely dispatches, staff coordination, and accurate documentation under the Depot Controller’s supervision.

You will maintain despatch records, support internal distribution, and uphold quality and compliance standards while delivering reliable service to customers.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• National Diploma in related field would be an added advantage.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Computer literacy and Syspro is essential.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Accuracy, audit and compliance knowledge.
• Knowledge of report writing and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all trucks are despatched on time in the morning.
• Arrange replacements of despatch staff where necessary.
• Ensure despatch team uniforms are worn at all times.
• Arrange internal distribution labour where necessary.
• Complete the despatch recon document daily.
• Maintain prescribed records of goods received and despatched.
• Enhance excellent customer service in the despatch department.
• Reconcile/despatch foreman recons daily and verify data.
• Record production transfers daily and confirm returns to despatch.
• Balance despatch recons’ daily sales with van sheets per route.
• Count and record all returns to stock on the return slip.
• Oversee stock variances and report to management.
