Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is seeking a Design Engineer in Gauteng to lead allocated designs for large steam, gas, and hydro turbine plants. You will provide a professional design service including new development, reverse engineering, and investigations for turbines, generators, and related plant.

The role requires strong mechanical design skills, FEA and thermo-fluid modelling, and experience with high-temperature steels.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required; mechanical design experience.
• Knowledge of OHSA, construction regulations and ISO standards.
• Ability to read and interpret component drawings and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Provide reverse engineering service.

SHEQ Responsibilities

• Continuous Improvement: Ensure that your Administration Document id current and includes your SHEQ objectives ensure that all legal appointments are valid and in place for your area of control.
• SHE Compliance: as a section 8 & 9 appointee, you are to ensure that the employer as contemplated in the Occupational Health and safety Act 85 of 1993 are properly discharged and all legal appointments are valid, and I place for your area of control.
• Reduce Rework: Measure and report on rework vs revenue for your department on a monthly basis and ensure you reduce rework to less than 0.5% of your turnover.

• Audit Rating: Maintain an audit score of less that 2 and / or receive no major audit findings.
