Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Delivery and Merchandising Driver to service Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. This hybrid role combines on-road delivery with in-store merchandising and stock placement to boost product visibility and sales.

The ideal candidate has a valid driver's license, a PDP if possible, proven delivery experience, and strong communication skills to build retail partner relationships. Training will be provided, with growth opportunities within the sales network.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License (Code 08 or equivalent).
• Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is highly advantageous.
• Proven delivery driver experience, preferably in FMCG.
• Experience with in-store merchandising or stock management is a plus.
• Knowledge of Nelspruit, Mpumalanga area and routes.
• Clean driving record with no major endorsements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time well.
• Physically able to lift/move up to 15 kg.

Responsibilities

• Deliver FMCG products safely to retail locations and complete notes.
• Plan daily routes within the Nelspruit area.
• Load/unload products and ensure order accuracy.
• Assist with in-store merchandising and correct pricing display.
• Maintain stock levels per planograms and client agreements.
• Build positive relationships with store managers and staff.
• Perform stock checks and report discrepancies.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and keep vehicle clean.
• Complete delivery notes and merchandising reports accurately.
• Adhere to company policies and health/safety rules.

About the Role

Our client, a leading fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) distributor, is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Delivery and Merchandising Driver to service clients in the Nelspruit, Mpumalanga region. This hybrid role involves not only delivering products but also assisting with in-store merchandising and stock placement to ensure product visibility and sales. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, a good understanding of merchandising principles, and a customer-focused attitude. You will be responsible for timely deliveries, maintaining stock levels on shelves, and building strong relationships with retail partners. Key Responsibilities

• Operate a delivery vehicle safely and efficiently to transport FMCG products to various retail locations.
• Plan and execute daily delivery routes within the Nelspruit, Mpumalanga area.
• Load and unload products, ensuring accuracy of orders and proper handling to prevent damage.
• Assist with in-store merchandising: stocking shelves, arranging products attractively, and ensuring correct pricing and point-of-sale materials are displayed.
• Maintain optimal stock levels at retail outlets as per planograms and client agreements.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with store managers and staff.
• Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies or issues to the sales team.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained.
• Accurate completion of delivery notes and merchandising reports.
• Adhere to all company policies, health, and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License (Code 08 or equivalent) and a Professional Driver's Permit (PDP) is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience in a delivery driver role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Experience with in-store merchandising or retail stock management is a significant plus.
• Good knowledge of the Nelspruit, Mpumalanga area and surrounding routes.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery and merchandising schedules.
• Physical ability to lift and move products (up to 15kg) and perform in-store merchandising tasks.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
