Qualifications

• Valid Code 10 (C1) or Code 14 (EC) driver’s license with PDP.
• Minimum 3 years’ delivery driving experience, FMCG/retail preferred.
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
• Ability to operate light to medium commercial vehicles safely.
• Familiarity with Cape Town road networks and logistics challenges.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to load/unload goods and perform physical tasks.
• Reliable, punctual and with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily delivery schedules accurately and efficiently for routes around Cape Town.
• Safely operate delivery vehicles in line with traffic laws and company policies.
• Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Verify orders and obtain customer signatures upon delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily delivery schedules accurately and efficiently for a designated route in and around Cape Town .
• Safely operate delivery vehicles (e.g., light commercial trucks, vans) in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
• Load and unload products from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or spoilage, particularly for perishable goods.
• Verify delivery orders against received goods and obtain customer signatures upon successful delivery.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or discrepancies.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients by providing courteous and professional service.
• Report any vehicle issues, traffic incidents, or customer complaints to the dispatch or management team promptly.
• Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and presentable, conducting routine checks on tires, oil, and other essential components.
• Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks during transit and delivery.
• Contribute to route optimization and efficiency improvements by providing feedback to the logistics team.

Requirements

• Valid Code 10 (C1) or Code 14 (EC) driver's license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• At least 3 years of proven experience in delivery driving, preferably within the FMCG or retail sector.
• A clean driving record with no significant traffic violations or accidents.
• Demonstrated ability to operate light to medium commercial vehicles safely.
• Familiarity with the road networks and logistical challenges of Cape Town and surrounding areas.
