Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a prominent retail chain with extensive operations across Mpumalanga , is seeking a reliable and diligent Specialized Goods Van Driver to join their logistics team. Key Responsibilities

Operate a specialized delivery van to transport retail goods to various store locations and customer addresses within Mpumalanga . Ensure the safe and secure handling of all goods, paying special attention to fragile, high-value, or specialized items. Plan and execute daily delivery routes efficiently, optimizing for time and fuel consumption. Conduct routine checks of the delivery van, ensuring it is clean, well-maintained, and safe to operate. Provide excellent customer service upon delivery, confirming orders and obtaining necessary signatures. Maintain accurate delivery logs, including details of goods transported, delivery times, and any issues encountered. Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety protocols. Report any vehicle maintenance needs or delivery discrepancies to the operations supervisor promptly. Assist with the loading and unloading of goods as required, following safe lifting practices. Represent the company professionally in all interactions with clients and store personnel.

Requirements

Valid driver's license (Code 8/EB) and a Professional Driver's Permit (PDP) is highly desirable. Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a delivery or courier role. Experience handling specialized or high-value goods is a strong asset. Good knowledge of the road network in and around Nelspruit and the broader Mpumalanga province. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet delivery deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the condition of goods. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Physically capable of performing manual tasks related to loading and unloading. A clean driving record is essential. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance is a plus.
