Placements24 is seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Specialist to join our client’s team in Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on implementing security controls, monitoring for threats, and responding to incidents across diverse environments.

You will work on vulnerability assessments, security policy development, and security awareness training while staying current with industry trends and technologies. Remote work options are available where feasible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related IT security role.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, and common vulnerabilities.
• Experience with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and antivirus solutions.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and monitor security measures to protect computer systems and networks.
• Analyze security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents to identify root causes.
• Develop and execute security protocols to prevent unauthorized access and system breaches.
• Install and use security tools (e.g., antivirus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on a regular basis.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
